Reviews
Mom and pop pit stop restaurant. I grew up in a little town in rural Indiana and this restaurant reminded me of restaurants back home. If you want fancy foods or high class atmosphere, keep on driving. This restaurant has very sweet and welcoming staff that definitely want to get to know you which makes you feel home and relaxed. Moving onto food and facility. Facility is very clean with the potively posted sanitary score of 99.0! I definitely was happy seeing that where I was eating was very clean. The facility looked like it was previously a depot stop decades ago which was nice. You can tell the owners are there for the people and not really for attraction of the restaurant because the interior is just less than lustrous! The food definitely makes up though bringing warm and hearty home food to the table with large portions of all. Thank you very much for a pleasant lunch while out traveling. The only reason for 4 stars is similar to a previous review. I ordered chicken sandwich with fries on the side except it was almost the other way around. It was fries with a side of chicken sandwich. If I wanted just fries, I would have ordered just fries. I ordered a chicken sandwich which was delicious but the point being that some of the portions are a little off. I really did have a relaxing lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Thank you!
We were road tripping & found ourselves needing lunch along the way. There weren't a lot of options, but we are glad we found this place. My first time having fried catfish & hush puppies. The catfish was wonderful. Really tasty with a light batter. We got the key lime pie to go and it was creamy & classic. Don't pass that up. The staff was very friendly. Lots of locals came in to enjoy the "hot bar". A buffet type option with 6 veggies and meat loaf & fried chicken.
We stopped here on our way to the OBX and it did not disappoint! The food came out very quickly, hot and fresh and sooo delicious. We wanted a "mom-and-pop" type of place to eat and this was exactly on point. The service was amazing. The establishment was clean and fitting with the seafood theme. Really hope we get to go back again on the way home!
Excellent place to eat with a very reasonably priced, delicious buffet. Not fancy, just a comfortable and clean home-style restaurant. Our server Patty, was wonderful. Right on Hwy 64 so it is very convenient if you're traveling to or from the Outer Banks. Highly recommended.
Best fried seafood I have ever had, fried softshell crabs and fried oysters are excellent. We always stop here for meal on the way back from outer banks
